Art Description

Drawing: Chalk, Pastel, Color on Paper.

This is one of my two drawings that were awarded 1st prize in an international competition titled "The Power of Colour".

You may have fish every year is a Chinese sentiment wishing that one may have abundance in their lives.
In Asia Koi fish represent strength, ambition, perseverance and good luck.

As I spent many years living and travelling in Asia I was able to experience many of the traditions of their cultures and Koi are everywhere.

I chose this image for it's bright colours in the dark pond and the movement of the fish in the water and the reflection of the light creates obscurity and interest.

This artwork is framed with a black frame and black mat, and had non reflective glass. The framed dimensions are 50 x 36 x 3 cm
