This series of drawings are named in reference to Wallace Stegner's Angle of Repose, a novel that has always stayed with me. The simplicity of graphite and a beautiful piece of paper has been soothing. Let's call these my angle of repose, the maximum slope, at which loose solid material will remain in place without sliding. Here's to not sliding.
