This artwork is a striking exploration of abstract expressionism, utilizing a stark color palette of vibrant pink and dense black against a pristine white background. The central focus is the juxtaposition of these two bold colors, creating a dynamic visual tension that captivates the eye. The composition is dominated by a bold, upward-pointing arrow-like figure formed by the intersection of thick black and pink strokes. The deliberate, confident strokes of black paint create a powerful contrast to the energetic, almost chaotic splashes of pink. This element commands attention and directs the viewer’s gaze upward and outward, suggesting themes of progress, aspiration, or transcendence. Parallel lines of varying lengths extend horizontally from the right portion of the arrow, creating a sense of movement and rhythm. These lines, alternating between sharp black and vibrant pink, evoke a feeling of dynamism and velocity, as if capturing a fleeting moment in motion. The pink hues, splattered and spilled with energetic abandon, inject a sense of spontaneity and raw emotion into the piece. With its minimalistic yet impactful design, the artwork balances between simplicity and complexity, order and chaos. It engages the viewer to explore beyond the surface, inviting interpretations about direction, energy, and the interplay between control and freedom. This piece exemplifies the power of abstract art to evoke deep emotional responses through color, form, and composition.

I have come to a realization about myself and my art. I am impatient and I have need for instant gratification. I get frustrated with time consuming traditional techniques and want to skip ahead to the end. These are the reasons that I am a series artist. I like to experiment with an idea or a technique until I am satisfied with the result. The inspiration for my work is in trying the new techniques. Having freedom of expression and not being limited to one style or technique of making art are paramount to my identity as an artist. I love the many different processes of making art and experimenting with new ways of creating art. My inspiration stems from color, music, literature, and the excitement about the unknown possibilities of taking everyday objects and using them in a way that differs from what the manufacturer intended. I use a combination of found objects, acrylic paints, and aerosol paints to create abstract patterns on wood and canvas. Some of my methods include combining different chemicals and paint on paper or in plastic or wood box frames and using centrifugal force and gravity to distort vivid colors that are mixed or thrown right on the canvas. The result is the distortion of lines and contours, and layers of translucent or opaque paints on the canvas or in random patterns.
