preparatory studies/ distorted images, 8 Drawing

My interdisciplinary work reflects an accumulation, appropriation and infiltration of the daily grind. It’s a sickness, aversion and compulsion to listen to a certain set of rap, punk and rock lyrics over and over until these dense and opaque things push out transformed. Coming from the center of incompletion- it’s everything I question. I don’t want to know/ I want to know. Images occur to me as if reams of information gathered from random magazines found in waiting rooms, focused research and reading (whether it’s Felix Guattari’s Soft Subversions, Sianne Ngai’s Ugly Feelings, or Arielle Greenberg’s Gurlesque) could become thing-like. ~~~~ This drawing is on 146 lb, acid free, Bristol paper. Packaged with an acid free 14" x 11" matt board behind the drawing for support and an acid free crystal-clear print sleeve. Artist framing is extra.
