About The Artwork
Inspired by 6 weeks in Paris and the time spent drawing in the Louvre. Leaving Paris in winter and returning to NZ to the warmth of summer should have been a pleasure which is represented in the dark to light nature and shading of this drawing. However the longing to return to the Louvre was strong which is at the essence of this charcoal drawing made in the still of the night 2 days after returning. Made on 140lb watercolor paper.
