London Dark Rhyme: London Bridge is Falling Down（Limited edition Giclee Print of 20） Drawing

Every fairytale has a dark history behind, so does children’s Rhymes. By selecting two children’s playground rhymes originally based on City of London. Qiong researches into legend and secret of London, invites historical event, children’s game and death execution, mythology into her scrolls. She combines observation method of Renaissance, using spaces and shapes, create a journey of contemporary version of tradition Rhymes. ‘London Bridge is Falling Down’ is a children’s catching game. Its background has two explanations: Viking Attack Theory; and the Fairy Lady, Child Sacrifice Theory. Based on research she creates a fantasy wonderland of the dark Medieval London. Wellcome to the journey. The idea starts from my casual wondering walks in different places all around London, from British Museum to Freemason's Hall, from churches to streets, and combing with my interests of reading tales and stories, it comes to this fantastic project of telling a fantastic story of my own version.
