About The Artwork

This painting, a riff (in painting, drawing, collage, and encaustic) on pages from Thomas Pynchon's novel Mason&Dixon, one of my favorite books, is one of a large series of drawing/paintings and mixed media collages (2016-present) inspired by specific books: Mason&Dixon, Moby Dick by Melville, At Swim-Two-Birds by O'Brien, Infinite Jest by Wallace, Tristram Shandy by Sterne, White Guard by Bulgakov, Mrs. Dalloway by Woolf, and other texts that are not books, including product packages and advertising. I enjoy making these and would be delighted to take commissions for a drawing or collage of any size inspired by a particular book, specific page of a book, or any other text (signs, advertisements, Wikipedia pages, etc.) of your choice. I'd love to collaborate on this.
