About The Artwork
I am a dance educator & professional dancer who loves visual arts. This creation is where both words exist & I love it! The background story is, I received this huge cardboard poster from my job with our free community day dance classes printed on them. The back was such a beautiful surface to create & I was immediately inspired to create! This was 3 years ago & I’ve moved 3 times, taking this artwork with me & adding more to it each year. This past week I visited the SF MOMA & I was inspired out of my mind, came home & finished the 3 year creation! This work includes drawings of dancers in motion & technical dance excellence. There’s also elements of freedom within the stroke of paint, the geometry & choices of nature. I used pencil, marker, paint, graph paper, tape, cut outs of smaller drawings & cardboard.
