The portrait depicts one of the most famous Cubist and avant-garde artist: Pablo Picasso. The work is a study of the face but above all wants to be a tribute to this great man, as well as an artist, also as a man. His face expresses all that Picasso had in his mind, heart and soul. I managed to put myself in him, and I tried to express all this in his face. His eyes express his soul: they are so expressive and profound that penetrates the soul of the observer and you are literally dazzled by these eyes!

My name is Francesco Di Carlo. I am an engineering student but, like many artists in history, I have always been passionate about art and I work continuously on my works as self-taught. I am always ready to learn and learn new techniques to refine my art by taking inspiration and imitating the works of the greatest artists. Since I am very young I paint, draw, sculpt, create, architect and model any kind of work. Going forward over the years I have been more and more practiced and passionate, studying the history of art and being fascinated by the works and history of the greatest artists such as Michelangelo Buonarroti, Caravaggio, Manet, Degas, Van Gogh, Picasso, Kandinsky, Dali, etc. In particular I was touched in the heart by some artists mentioned above that led me to direct my art to specific branches. In fact, mainly now I work on portraits on pencil or charcoal paper, but I am always ready to renew myself so much that in my life I have also painted completely different works in style, subject, technique, etc. I propose portraits because I am passionate about the subjects that I portray and I identify myself in their feelings and emotions, catching the whole in the features of the face and representing the soul directly in the eyes!
