In this drawing there are three subjects, although they have different problem, they also have one thing in common: the looks of people who are not affected by their illnesses, healthy people ... society. The way in which the sick people are looked at by the strangers always impressed me: it is a mixture of compassion, fake indifference but also suspicion and presumption ... I explain better, the presumption of feeling better just because of health . this inspired me. However, each one is represented with a different color depending on what they may feel: red represents the anger and the desire for redemption, violet is associated with the imagination of those who dreams a different life , and finally blue represents the quiet dignity of those who know they can overcome even the most difficult moments. In this drawing I chose very young subjects, because to me they represent the innocence that, in this case , is opposed to their physical condition that we could define, in some ways , "corrupt".

I'm Serena and I live in Italy, where I was born. I'm 20 and now I study law at University. I started drawing when I was very young, because of boredom but now things are different...now when I draw I create a world, a personal space in witch I can find shelter but also express all my feelings without filters or whatever. When I draw I find a connection with the deepest part of me, so through my artwork I can understand what happens in my life, what I see, what I think and I can't explain... maybe my drawings are an attempt to make order in my life. In retrospect I realized that art and also the pen that I always use to draw could be very powerful tools... so I developed an intense need to communicate my point of view on the society where we live in. With My works I want to reflect on all the ways in which this system deprives us of innocence and makes us indifferent, alone, hurt or just bad, because it really scares me.
