About The Artwork

Inspired by the unseen and unnoticed within the landscape this work suggests a co-existance between nature and man. The intenstion of the work suggests that it is a human condition to look at the bigger picture. But in doing this, we miss the finer detail which is also very improtant in the quality of the 'bigger picture'. This work invites you to look closer and celebrate the beauty within the detail and explore this through the idea of scale both large and small. The inisial work is inspired by 'amatur microscopics'. This is a type of microscopic view of plant stem cells. The work celebrates the beauty and quality of shape within the plant stem cells, a beauty that remains unseen and unnoticed.

Kate Mouzer is a Fine artist inspired by the unseen and the unoticed within the Welsh Landscape. Her abstract work reflects the connection between humanity and nature finding a naturalistic common ground in which the two can co-exist. Texture colour and tone are very important elements within the work produced and determins the quality of the overal structural relationship with the emotions of the work and connection between artist and audience. Kate Mouzer was born in Birmingham but moved to the Pembrokeshire when she was 15 years old. Her love for the landscape has developed through her connection with both an urban and rural setting. "There is a beauty in things that go unnoticed within both of these settings." She continues, "Although the landscape is different on a level of manmade and natural, there are still elements that allow the two to cross over such as rubbish on the beach or an urban park, yellow lines on the road side and stratigically placed road signs. All these things are around us living in a subtle partnership of natural and manmade yet they go unnoticed by so many. This is what i find beauty in."
