Viola and Guitar on table Drawing

Inspiration: I grew up loving Picasso, Braque and Jaun Gris. Their work has been pivotal for me in this series of works. For the viewer: The beauty of stringed instruments and the inherent interest evolving forms create. The solitude and calm of the space. Choice of medium: I used these materials in my sketch book drawing the thumbnail for this piece and it felt natural to bring it to life using those same materials. Subject matter: I admire violin makers and the materials and shapes that, when assembled, make such a beautiful thing. The parts alone are inspiring and great source material. Style: The style is free, spontaneous and and hesitating. That works for me.
