My work is in and of the landscape, not intrusive but rather complementary. Plunge into the silence of the woods and you are filled with enchantment. Here we bear witness to the natural cycle of renewal and rest. An Ending Is the Beginning celebrates this cycle of birth, death, re-birth, nature’s progression. I chose multiple vines to be sited in the woods on a fallen tree / trees and its branches, originating on the trunk and then radiating outward onto the branches and then in all directions to the forest floor, forming a circle of life around the fallen tree. The leaves attached to the wire will also provide a kinetic nature to the work, moving and “fluttering” in response to air currents and wind. It is quite magical.

I was born in Bethlehem, PA, USA
I live and work in Yardley (Bucks County) PA, USA. 40 minutes north of Philadelphia, 75 minutes southwest of New York, NY.
I work in sculpture and works on paper. Each enriches the other, resonating back and forth in a dialogue of shared imagery, structure and thought. Sculpture and works on paper bring forth the primacy of touch in a world overflowing with machine-made objects.
In sculpture I work primarily in unique bronze castings ranging in scale from gallery works to installations and public commissions. I also fabricate in steel, aluminum and mixed media.
Most recently my small scale gallery works have been concerned with variations on the sphere and the image of the house. This work is personal and defined by its relation to the hand.
My public work, though, is different in intent and scale. It is to be understood and accessible to a wide audience, and perhaps populist in feeling. It is defined by its relationship to the body - you are able to move in, out and around the space it occupies - it is real physical space.
Works on paper are predominately in charcoal and oil sticks, media similar to the sculptural materials of clay and wax. The scale of my drawings is large. As with sculpture, I need to be physically engaged with the work.
My images provide an overview of my work.
