Laurent Muller is a Slasher (one person, multiple careers) as we would say today! Paris, NYC, Malta, London, Amsterdam: that is his journey, migrating since 20 years from Industrial Design, to photography & psychotherapy, to Ceramic. Whatever the medium is, LM creates complex bodies of works as complementary languages of emotion. His Paintings are linked to his studies of psychotherapy, and observe the unconscious depth of youth, pains and pleasures, while his furniture are pure and conceptual, and his ceramics, self-taught and rich of an intuitive approach, represent the various inspirations collected from the 20,000 year ceramic legacy he has given himself the challenge to study and interpret, calling it his ‘Ceramic DNA’. At 14 he studied applied arts in Marseille before entering the National School of Design (ENSCI-Les Ateliers) in Paris and moving to NYC at 25 to work as a design-agent. 3 years later, LM moves to London to explore both psychotherapy and shamanism, and will create his first collection of sculpture-furniture presented in Milan Furniture Fair in 2013. A polymath at heart, LM teaches in Amsterdam an intuitive technique to ceramic throwing and glazing.
