Art Description

Installation: Paper on Paper.

This artwork is created by layering multiple layer of hand crafted Japanese paper with Japanese colors on the base paper with acrylic, watercolor pen and color pencil to finish.

Arashiyama, Kyoto where I live has beautiful "Sagano bamboo grove."

"Wakatake-iro," the fresh green like on newly grown bamboo, "Aotake-iro," dark blueish green on grown up bamboo surface, "Oitake-iro," dull green with grey tone due to age. Created the artwork with those 3 representative colors of bamboo. Since bamboo grows in straight and has good vitality, it is considered a very auspicious plant in Japan.
