About The Artwork

“Cut The Grin, Norma!” 2013: This brutal and bold portrait was created using mixed media, using unexpected materials and objects. Wow! This is a portrait of a fictional kikimora and a zombie named Norma. This is a tribute to horror comics and thrash films. The work abounds with explosive color combinations, wild collage patterns (using shiny foil, oracal, spray paint, fluorescent acrylic paints, glitter gel, plastic parts and metal micro objects). The basis (foundation) of the portrait is a lightweight durable metal-plastic composite and a wooden subframe. This psychedelic bright portrait was created in the legendary Ukrainian Midi Free studio. Real radical work!
