As part of a four piece series, De(con)struction # 4 comes from the inspiration of the Art Nouveau era. My installation however, was influenced by the distortion of the symmetry rather than perfection. Derived from a study of pumkins and their perfection, I used various techniques such as, Japanese silk paper making, to bring to life my installation in 2D form

Having moved from one of the most Northern countries of Europe, Ireland to the most Southern points, the island of Sicily Aisling is highly influenced by advancing social reform, migration and confrontational material.Aisling conveys her work through asymmetrical, distortion and organic life forms. Influence plays heavily on her studies by her surroundings of Italian architecture from Barocco to Liberty. These studies are followed in visual diaries in which she prepares to elevate her work from 1D to 2D.The use and manipulation of fibres play a principle role in in Aisling's installations.
