This project was developed during the past weekend on the 8th and 9th October. The building was originally the first industrial farm in Galicia and served as a model for other constructions in the rural areas that were developed in this community. It currently functions as a studio, and is the place where two artist friends, Bernardo Tejeda and Luis Moscardó, work. On this occasion the intervention was made for an open house: "Open Space", to show the work of Luis along with mine. We chose the Black series, because we were aware that it would give a good result by combining the architecture of very contrasting shades (white walls and the wood roof) with the simplicity of the drawings that show only the different variations of the layout of a cube in isometric perspective, made using only white linen thread on black foamboard. I created a geometric composition that also used the windows, combining their vertical rectangles with the square format of the drawings. I believe that the use of simple elements and neutral colors allows you to focus on the structure and it is very interesting to get everything to work as a set, as something integrated. The distribution of the drawings was made in relation to the horizontal lines so that they were structured around the position of the windows, some with very special numerical distances, those of lower height are separated 222 cm which makes your average distance 111, a number that has properties associated with energy. I'm a visual artist from Spain, now living and working between two places, Barcelona and Vilalba (Lugo). I am interested in working with the structural elements of painting to create an image that extends beyond the frame edges. I use the wall as a large canvas on which I place in different media and formats to take advantage of specific space characteristics. The painting in this way makes the viewer see the wall as a part of it. At this moment I have two projects in progress: The first one called "Drawing" is a project where I use different kinds of paper and foam board to make pictures without using traditional drawing materials. I draw different ideas and structures drawn with a fine needle.Sometimes I draw with white and black thread and an invisible nylon too. In the second project called "Light", I use LED lights in the pictures, to create paintings to make a dialogue with the space in which the different shades of light creates an extension of the picture outside the frame. Wood frames, foam board on the surface and light within the painting, are the three basic elements that used to work. I believe that a picture is better than words.
