LandEscape is scissor cut on linen. The linen was first painted with watered glue, to be firm and fitted for cutting with scissors. I left the linen without hardware, to be placed on the wall as it is, attached with nails only, so the softness of fabric, and its ragness is left untouched.
In this work, I was inspired with my inner state of loneliness and not belonging. In my art I try to communicate feelings that are kind of taboo in western civilisation. Loneliness and wanting to "Escape from the land of Earth" , as well as my own hidden world in the time of chaos and mass consumption are neverending inspiration in my work.
I use fabric and cotton as my favourite materials, easy to manipulate with and close to my intimate world like the sheets on my bed. Scissors and cutting are the opposite. Analysing, thinking, rationalizing. Softness VS. sharpness.
