PARADOX Installation

The work proposes to reflect on the paradox of our perception of time. The time of life, like that of artistic practice, is called into question in the space of a few centimetres, those that run between the original surface, not yet touched by the pencil, and that instead completely covered by the signs that make up the drawn face. Einstein, with the theory of general relativity, taught us that time and space are a single thing, and the changing of one has effects on the other. The bar that sustains the drawing, crossed by light horizontal lines, symbolises spacetime, the dimension that permeates the entire universe and that is the background of the artist’s drawing. You only need to move one step to go forward or backward by 7 days, the time necessary to create the work (the dates of which are noted on the wooden bar that sustains the drawing). A temporal paradox that invites us to reflect on how unstable are our knowledge of and our beliefs about the world.
