About The Artwork

Part of the exhibition 'Divergent Thinkers 03' Moira Agius uses mixtures of glass and polyester resin to create engaging sculptures of babies that deal with social restrictions and culturally imposed taboos. Picture is part of a baby in a cage email me for more pics: moira_agius@yahoo.com Truth as a radical concept In order to comfort ourselves, we create our own set of fabricated fundamental truths which we pass on to succeeding generations. Without knowing, we create “a mobile army of metaphors; [...] a sum of human relations which have been enhanced, transposed, and embellished poetically and rhetorically, and which after long use seem firm, canonical, and obligatory to a people: truths are illusions, metaphors which are worn out and without sensuous power.” (Nietzsche, 1976, p. 46-47)
