All my work surrounds the concept of man vs nature. I constantly look at patterns that overlap in our surroundings, and I find it interesting how nature creates the same fractals that humans do. Yet, somehow we can not find the correct balance in sustaining our planet. The materials that I utilize are a reflection of this process, as I use the most natural element (clay), covered by a man-made medium (resin) A big part of my art process is that it becomes interactive. The viewer is welcome to touch my work, this also becomes a subtle reminder that we are all responsible for our planet, and we all play a part in contributing in some way or form. This particular piece is inspired by the ocean, again the materials used are a reflection of what we are doing to our seas - something that is so natural is surrounded by plastic. All the waste that comes from humans, ends up suffocating and poisoning our water. In turn it all returns to us as well, as we eat the fish in the sea, thus becoming a vicious cycle. This artwork is part of a triptych, once placed all together, it creates a wave. It is made on a wooden canvas, and does not need a frame as it drifts off on the side. The frame is also indented in the back so it is ready to hang.
