About The Artwork
"Of course!" I said when I was invited to be the Artist-in Residence at Saatchi Art's "The Other Art Fair", not fully comprehending the scope of the work that had to be done in two months, but onward I marched (with a trip to New Orleans sandwiched in there), between my house, my studio, the Fashion District, Joann Fabrics for that special glue and everywhere in between, and on March 15th, three sequin mesh-on-muslin panels were installed without a hitch. Although meant to be hung flat, the room was four feet smaller than anticipated, so we draped the panels, and it was fabulous. This is the first completed panel of three panels. Grommets have been installed across the top at 1' intervals. Shipping note: The shipping information defaults for a piece this size to a crate but it will actually be packaged for shipping in a box.

Kelly Brumfield-Woods' involvement in the art world began in Venice in the mid-1980’s, when, after a Venice Art Walk, she sent cards to the participating artists, offering her services as a studio assistant. By the time she was accepted to Otis, she had a full-time studio assistant business up and running, working closely with some of the top Venice artists and she made a decision to continue working rather than return to academia. Kelly’s work has recently been included in Shimmer, at Jamie Brooks Fine Art in Costa Mesa. Kelly lives and works in Los Angeles.
