The completion of the canvas comes to an end one year after the creation of the work "Waterfall". In fact, it can be said that the work "Terre emerse" represents a sort of development of the original thought originally conceived for "Waterfall". The canvas was made with acrylic colors mixed with vinyl glue and, from a chromatic point of view, we find many of the colors used in the aforementioned work, which represent the shades of the sea. The color was placed on the canvas with the help of a branch. The choice of this object for the drafting is symbolic and can be considered as a sort of celebration of nature: in the artist's imagination this is accomplished by representing nature using a component of it as a tool. The color was first applied with directed and thoughtful movements and then with quick and clean jets. These two drafting methods have helped to visually create a whirlwind of colors, which represents the sea in its various shades and personalities: we find the stormy sea and the clearest and most serene one, the strong ocean currents and the quiet of the coral reefs, in a continuous game of opposites that coexist in the same element in a crescendo of emotions. The sea is also an element particularly dear to the artist as it represents fragments of memories and emotions of his personal experience, between travels and past. The planisphere is superimposed, it does not rest directly on the canvas, but detaches itself from it, creating an interesting play of shadows, resulting in a variable perception of the canvas in relation to the perspective and lighting of the room in which you are. It was made of iron, which is the chemical element that prevails in the composition of the earth's core, a further celebration of nature and, by extension, of the Earth. The jagged contours of the planisphere were then defined thanks to the use of the grinder. On the surface of the planisphere it is possible to observe the presence of rust, an element strongly desired by the artist and which represents the negative counterpart within the work. In nature, iron, repeatedly exposed to agents such as air and water and therefore to oxygen, undergoes the so-called oxidation process, which leads to the formation of rust. Similarly, the Earth, with the passage of time and due to the action of multiple factors, undergoes an inexorable process of aging and deterioration. The latter term carries with it an evident negative meaning, easily attributable to human behavior that is slowly leading to the collapse of ecosystems and, more generally, of human civilization. Rust therefore takes on a predominantly negative meaning, as it symbolizes not only deterioration, but also the corruption of matter. From the strong and intense drafting of the color, to the precision in the realization of the planisphere, to the desired presence of rust as a corrosive element of the material, the work aims to arouse a strong contrast of emotions in the observer. Although it consists of two anatomically separate elements, the work is perceived as a single entity. In this coexist two opposing visions that coexist in the same person: the passion and strength of the artist's memories, linked to the chromatism of the sea in the background, and a negative vision represented by the deterioration of the Earth, or the planisphere strewn with rust, symbol of unfortunate fate of the land that emerged.

I'm an Architect. My artistic production is primarily contemporary and takes inspiration from external stimuli, such as real life events in the world that are then developed and understood through artistic mediums. My academic studies helped me to draw insights and inspiration from great figures in the field such as acrylic colors, paints and different types of support. My developing knowledge combined with my passion enabled me to form a more conscious vision of the world, fuelling my interest for travelling and broadening my artistic horizons. I prefer to use readily available materials such as acrylic colours, paints and various types of media. Much of my work comes from interpretations of concepts developed in academia and universities, other productions reflect current affairs and others follow the client's intuitions and desires. I don't have a favourite technique however I can summarize my passion and will to experiment with the words of Vincent Van Gogh: “I am always doing what I cannot do yet, in order to learn how to do it.” I have recently embarked on a journey of artistic innovation that is about developing new forms of expression. The purpose of this journey is to define the concept of ‘Random’ and discover different ways of approaching in. In my opinion, the fascination with the paradoxical relationship between randomness and control is reflected in paintings that are aesthetically appealing and tell a unique and unrepeatable story.
