Angelo Lussiana has started working with cardboard, fascinated by the possibility of recreating the most common objects with this material noticing that the cardboard holds out better than what one may conceive: his initial idea was to create furniture but he has dedicated most of his time to the creation of ordinary objects, trying to reinterpret them using this material without losing the purpose of beauty and utility. A lot of effort is spent in seeking constructive solutions aimed at improving good appearance and strength: he has created a special eventually new technique in cardboard working, in order to create objects with the same cut all-round surface giving considerable strength to the entire object along with uniformity and warmth to the touch. A common feature of the most of his objects is a movement: the lamp that lights up by lifting its shade, a portable PC that reveals its function of blackboard with chalks by lifting the lid, the pirates killed by the vortex fired from a cannon, just to name a few. The use of a “fabric in cardboard", patiently created joining together hundreds of strips, has allowed the creation of objects with a flexible and soft surface, such as the handbag Brigitte.
