ABOUT THE ARTWORK
In the original criss-cross illusion, the outline is a flat monochromatic front view and the small tilted rectangles in the middle are all the same shade of grey. This is much less obvious in this composition as I introduced on purpose various elements of color meant to reflect on each other and also distorted some of the angles. However, I assigned the two grey rectangle the same HEX value and a 20% dot gain. Changes come from the tiles picking a different light & shade from other elements.
