ABOUT THE ARTWORK

A painted visual representation of Caroline With newspaper on canvas placed to align, a synthetic resin acrylic which is a mild alkaline Giving a final finish which looks crystalline It describes Caroline as a timid black lady She is comported, reserved and a bit shady She is a Nigerian lady of Igbo descent A bit introverted with a lovely accent Daily her love for blacks would augment It grew stronger than hardened cement She valued identity to a great extent Her culture, she would never misrepresent. She would say to me, "Prosper, with great pleasure, I accept being black, I may be timid and confidence I lack But if my black culture is under attack I would rise, speak and fight back" This was painted in honour of Her There was no other way I could prefer An action I could no longer defer.
