The Commune des Arbres series is inspired by the phenomenal book The Overstory by Richard Powers, which describes how woods and forests are living entities of which all the different parts depend on each other. Trees are figuratively and literally connected through their root systems. They warn each other of danger and care for each other at all kinds of levels. One of the most inspiring books I have read.
