ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I have worked with toner transfers for the last 14 years. I love printmaking, and it's the most accessible as I work out of a small studio apartment. This is part of the series of US presidents who enslaved people. It is meant to be a surprise when people actually read the words, as these presidents are so venerated in the US, and their racism is whitewashed. I hope images of Wanted Posters that the US post office displaces come to mind when looking at the piece.
