Drowning on a Summer’s Eve is inspired by conceptual illustration, and the narratives we can build through drawings. Within this artwork, a women is seen walking alone with her umbrella, there’s a couple in the building above. I digitally created this illustration from my own frustration of love, the feelings of loneliness, belonging and somber that comes with heartbreak. Viewers tend to feel drawn to the women and have a feeling of hope and sincerity from the red/orange colours. Summers Eve is a limited edition textured Giclee print, hand finished with ink, pastel, gesso, and crayon.
