After graduating from Bunka Fashion College, I spent a decade working in the apparel industry, gaining hands-on experience in product planning, design, and buying. This experience provided me with a deep understanding of the creative and commercial aspects of fashion—analyzing trends, selecting materials, and developing products. It also shaped my ability to merge artistry with a market-oriented perspective, a foundation that continues to influence my work today. Based in Japan, I create art pieces using indigo-dyed boro fabric, an iconic textile deeply rooted in Japanese tradition. My work is inspired by the philosophy of upcycling—revitalizing discarded materials and transforming them into meaningful objects of beauty. Through my creations, I strive to explore the harmony between history and modernity, imperfection and refinement, tradition and innovation. My artistic practice spans from interior decor pieces that seamlessly integrate into daily life to statement artworks that command presence in contemporary spaces. Each piece carries the essence of time and craftsmanship, preserving the rich cultural heritage of Japan while presenting it in a contemporary artistic language. More than just visual appeal, I see my work as a bridge—connecting people through storytelling, shared experiences, and cultural appreciation. I hope that each piece resonates with its viewer, sparking curiosity and dialogue. Moving forward, I will continue to create works that foster deeper connections—between people, history, and sustainable craftsmanship. Thank you for your support and for joining me on this artistic journey.
