ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Directly surrounding the artist's studio is an abundance of nature trails. Set in the hinterland of coastal Australia, the hand crafted studio offers the artist constant inspiration & stimulus to create modern botanical artworks. Part of the artist's MIGRATION series, the series contemplates the different forms of migration across a range of landscapes. The simplicity of the ink figures offers the viewer an opportunity to put their own time & place to the art piece. The matt aluminium adds to the muted, diffused light that light brings through filtered rainforest views.

Jen is a self taught artist. Through a range of artistic interests, Jen has created an online gallery& design house - - based on her original artworks. Being self taught, it has been a map free winding path of new discoveries. From a young age, Jen was interested in helping her Dad fix & build things. Not able to hold her concentration span as long as the job required Jen would wander off, discover bits & pieces in the shed & see what else these parts could become. You can still find Jen in sheds & other industrial yards discovering materials & traditional construction methods, trying to figure out how else these new bits & pieces she discovers can be transformed into something else. This poking around the industrial areas has lead Jen down the path of mixing commercial & traditional techniques, creating watercolour based artwork with an industrialised twist. Working from her hand-built studio nestled in the untamed jungle of her Tamborine Mountain backyard, Jen is surrounded by a never ending source of inspiration. Jen enjoys offering the ability to tell an art story throughout a home or workspace not just on walls but as functional pieces too.
