ABOUT THE ARTWORK
A woman stands in all the purity of her nudity, she is blind because her eyes are blindfolded, and she holds a skull in her hands, facing forward, as if it is death that she presents to all the people she will meet. This paintography is an allegory of ideology, which is most often a thought which wants to be pure, rid of the weight of the real, a closed thought, blind to the corrections of real life and to nuances, a thought which, often, considers that death of the opponent is a necessary evil to establish the "truth". This painting is a one-of-a-kind piece made in mixed technique on canvas combining photography, digital composition and acrylic painting (multiple transparent glazes which give a lacquered effect and fragments in relief). The work is framed in black wood (total dimensions: approximately 82 x 44 x 3.5 cm)

« In the age of digital technologies, I couldn't just be a painter or a photographer. My 'paintographies' bring down borders between techniques and offer a resolutely contemporary hybrid art. » I was born in 1975 in a small town in the French countryside and arrived in Paris in 1992 for my studies (History, English and literature). I have been a professional artist since 2007, with over 80 exhibitions across France and Europe. My artistic approach is both simple and complex. Although my work portrays a figurative aesthetic that favors clarity, it does so through a complex blending of photography, digital art, and acrylic painting. The result is a mixed technique I call ‘paintography’. My compositions highlight the fragility of the human body. I transform my model into virtual sculptures by replacing their skin with mineral materials to represent the passage of time.
