Child sexual abuse committed by priests and members of the Catholic clergy has caused collective indignation, which has led to the gradual change of these practices and the cynical and excessive cover-ups with which such serious and destructive cases for society are involved and diluted. The cases have been documented and reported to civil authorities in several countries, resulting in the persecution of pedophiles and civil lawsuits against the dioceses of the Catholic Church. But many of the cases come to light several decades after the events when the perpetrators and accomplices have almost laughably evaded convictions and any retaliation that could occur. My work pretends to be an old altered photograph portraying the silence of the victims, the abuse of power using the hierarchy to do wrong and avoid punishment, sending to the back the interest, attention and care of those affected, who are mostly consumed in secret.
