Lantern No.1. is a rug that is part of a monumental installation, called Bonfire, 2019, 37 digitally produced rugs (cotton), each rug is 50 x 60 inches or 60 x 80 inches. At the center of this piece, a diptych of carpets (60 x 80 inches) portrays a large group of people gathered in a circle - much as we would gather around a bonfire. Filling out the mandala-like shape, the surrounding carpets (50 x 60 inches) portray people from varied backgrounds, most of them expressing happiness. Collaged into each of the surrounding carpets is an image of a bonfire. Whereas the bonfire is usually the center of a gathering, on all the carpets the fire is everywhere. At this time, vast fires were devastating parts of the Amazon Rainforest, California, and Australia My goal is to present an inviting but provocative environment. Here, we are prompted to consider our responsibility to ourselves as well as our responsibility to our global community. Delivery Time:Typically 3 weeks for domestic shipments, 3-4 weeks for international shipments.
