About The Artwork

The popular game Sudoku originally goes back to the Latin squares of the Swiss mathematician Leonhard Euler. Graphical representations have also been known for a long time. The aim is to arrange a set of colored squares in such a way that the solution results in a square again and each color occurs only once in each column and row. In this artwork I combine latin squares with Mondrian's neoplasticism. Accordingly, a simple Mondrian Soduko consists of a total of 16 squares, which in turn are arranged into a square of four columns and four rows. In line with the colors used by Mondrian, they have a black frame and are colored with the primary colors red, blue and yellow as well as with white. For this specific artwork the square were replaced by circles. The artwork is available as fine art print (paper format 50 x 50 cm, print format 40 x 40 cm) on Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308g/m2 in a Limited Edition of 25 pieces (Hahnenmühle Certificate of Authenticity) and will be signed by the artist.

"Be a versatile workhorse, not a one-trick pony!" Living and working in Langen (Hessen), close to Frankfurt/M. (Germany), I was born and spent my childhood and youth in Bamberg (Bavaria). If you are aware of this medieval town you will definitely agree that this 'Franconian Rome' and World Heritage is certainly one of the most beautiful cities in Germany.
