About The Artwork

Audrey Hepburn famously said "Nothing is impossible; the word itself says 'I'm possible! '”. I took the picture of the candle holder in a pub in London and just loved the colors and reflections and so in this painting I wanted her light to shine through, but also as if she was trapped by her beauty and the unwavering pressures from society as a beautiful celebrity. The background was painted with a combination of acrylic and spray paint and then gold leaf over it; I wanted Audrey to almost float in this painting but also look like she was in a societal prison but still be positive.
