About The Artwork
There are many layers to this piece. The first later was stenciled black on white canvas. The words peace and love all across... I then rubbed gold iridescent paint on the canvas with my gloved hands. That was messy and alot of fun. I then decided to draw the letters PEACE LOVE and hearts, later filling them in with clear rhinestone crystals. This was extremely time consuming because I'm a freak about making sure things are perfectly lined up. Once the glued dried I still felt like it needed more so I decided to added gold leafing. This is a messy format and needless to say Im still finding bits and pieces around my studio. For the outside edges I etched a swirly design onto foil and covered the etching with more clear rhinestone crystals. The layers definitely add to the feel of dimension and abstract feel. Definitely an eye-catching work of art. This piece was inspired by the pure desire for PEACE AND LOVE everywhere. I have always gravitated towards the message and feel that Original Art is the best way to spread PEACE & LOVE out to the world. - Kimberly
