Beauty is an illusion, a fragile construct, corrupted by a society that weaves it upon false, replicable, hollow ideals. This project proclaims it boldly: images, born as fashion and beauty shots by the Artist, have been treated with oils and varnishes, scratched and altered with abrasive materials....

In 1981, at the age of 17, I discovered photography thanks to a camera gifted to me by my father. Initially, I didn't know how to fully utilize it, but soon realized it would become my preferred form of communication. Reading a book by Andreas Feininger, I came across a phrase that deeply inspired me: "He who cannot create an interesting photograph with an inexpensive camera, is unlikely to achieve something better with a costly one." I began with still-life photography to study light and form. This self-taught journey lasted for seven years. I decided to abandon my engineering studies to fully dedicate myself to photography. In 1988, I moved to Milan, presenting my first portfolio. In just two months, I secured my first professional assignment, thanks to Alberto Nodolini, the Art director of Vogue. It was the era of Made in Italy, and in the following years, I solidified my career. In 1999, I opened my first studio in Milan, at Via Watt 10, in an old bolt factory. I chose to maintain the original aspect of the space, transforming it into a bright loft with various settings for photographic sets. Since 1998, in addition to photography, I have taught and worked as a journalist. In workshops, I do not showcase my own work or discuss technicalities; instead, I focus on method. I strive to bring out the individual expression of each participant without overly influencing them. I have collaborated with numerous companies and advertising agencies, creating campaigns for Alitalia, Avon, Cinzano, Cotril, Deborah, Korff, Kraft, Neauvia, Nivea, Rilastil, The Bridge, and Trussardi. In 2016, I was chosen by Huawei to test the first smartphone cameras, demonstrating how to fully exploit their capabilities. Today's photography, for me, is influenced by technology, but human capacity to see and interpret reality remains important. For this reason, beyond any layout, I always seek to create images capable of conveying emotions and communicating my worldview. Research has always been a cornerstone of my artistic journey, leading me to develop fine-art photography projects aimed at narrating and revealing myself through the visual power of images. The constant search for new inspirations allows me to experiment with new forms of artistic expression, aiming to focus the viewer's attention on specific details and characteristic aspects of the subject, often part of the everyday simplicity that remains invisible to the eye.
