ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Canvas has been used by artists since around the Renaissance. Canvas is a strong woven fabric that has traditionally been used by artists as a surface for painting. I want to awaken the canvas, to awaken its soul, the canvas is not just a support for painting. The canvas is not just a support for painting, it should be a part of the creation. Canvas and Mountain The first canvas remodeling work was completed in 2008. At that time, I just wanted to make something new without a clear direction, so I made a pillow and a quilt out of canvas. These visual effect shocked me, it looked like a landscape painting, and also look like my bed. Landscape Painting and Ink I did not have any education in Chinese painting, but I wanted to participate in the UOB Ink Painting Competition, so I bought a brush and ink completed my first ink painting in my life. From the process of creation, I realized the power of using the brush and fell in love with ink painting. I am a Hong Kong people. In recent years, many things have happened in society and my personal life has changed a lot. Nature has become my home, my soul, and a space for me to communicate with Buddha, and at the same time, it presents my concern for society. This is a contemporary work that combines landscape, ink, Western expression, and sentimentality.
