Dominique Kennedy is a native of Sydney, but she moved to the suburbs of Newcastle to be closer to her family eight years ago. As a single mother, she has devoted most of her adult life to raising her two beautiful children. Spurred on by her mother’s intense love for the arts, her skills in music, art, literature, and dance were nurtured from a young age. Although she has no formal training as a fine artist, Dominique worked as graphic designer for more than a decade. Her love of the supernatural, the spiritual, the sentimental, and the iconography of religion have all contributed to her hauntingly beautiful vision. Her work varies from subtle to jarring and often addresses the struggles between good and evil, truth and fiction, and light and dark. In 2020 during the outbreak of Covid-19, Dominique decided to give herself over to art full time. She has recently undertaken several commissions, and her paintings currently hang in local homes and businesses throughout New South Wales and the USA.
