When your child starts to stack blocks, you'll see them assessing “problems” (“How do you build something out of these blocks?”) and experimenting with solutions. They're practicing problem-solving skills and contributing to their cognitive development by stretching their brain. Motherhood and being a teacher go hand and hand. It is amazing to watch a young person at work because there is so much happening in even the simplest of tasks. I wanted to capture the focus and the determination on her face while completing a familiar task of stacking blocks. My hope is that mothers and teachers will see beyond that and smile because those little classroom moments give us a sense of pride and passion for our jobs.
