About The Artwork

"Treasure" shows two characters in a partial way: one, standing, of which we see neither the head nor the legs, is largely hidden by the other of which we see the upper body and the head swaddled in a white fabric. All the delicacy of the painting is due to the play of the hands: those of the first character which enclose the head in a protective manner, as if they were holding a treasure, and that of the second character pressed against the chest of the "protector" in a gesture similar to that of a child towards his parent who comforts him. This painting is a one-of-kind artwork made in mixed technique on canvas. It combines photography, digital composition and acrylic painting (glaze and semi-transparent golden squares in relief). It is framed in black wood (total dimensions: approximately 84 x 84 x 3.5 cm)

« In the age of digital technologies, I couldn't just be a painter or a photographer. My 'paintographies' bring down borders between techniques and offer a resolutely contemporary hybrid art. » I was born in 1975 in a small town in the French countryside and arrived in Paris in 1992 for my studies (History, English and literature). I have been a professional artist since 2007, with over 60 exhibitions across France and Europe. My artistic approach is both simple and complex. Although my work portrays a figurative aesthetic that favors clarity, it does so through a complex blending of photography, digital art, and acrylic painting. The result is a mixed technique I call ‘paintography’. My compositions highlight the fragility of the human body. I transform my model into virtual sculptures by replacing their skin with mineral materials to represent the passage of time.
