You're Going To Be Okay Artwork

In this series of mixed-media paintings, photographs are taken from a variety of life events and printed on paper or canvas and then torn or cut. They are combined with paint, glitter, foil, paper, metal leaf, confetti and beads in liquefied emulsions that overflow and erupt from wood panels. The application of materials on the photographs is done intuitively over multiple sessions to allow each layer to dry before the next layer is added. When complete, often only a breath of the original photograph(s) is visible. Due to the multiple layers, it takes over a month to create each painting in this series. This artwork is a vibrant and textured mixed-media piece. It features a dynamic composition full of rich colors and intricate details. The artwork is dominated by swirling patterns of glitter in various colors, including purple, pink, silver, and orange.
