Loumiotis Dimitrios Born 1960 in Greece,Parnassos Gortinias Arkadias.1973 he arrives in Aegina, a greek island in the Saronic golf and is deeply impressed by the various artists of the island like Moralis ,Nikolaou, Kappos and Argiro. He begins his first paintings, oil on wood and canvas, later he works with the sandstone of Aegina making sculptures. 1985 he moves to Vienna,Austria. The early years he learns graphic art,by the same time he works as a decorator and graphic artist in the company of Jen Eisenberger,a big chain of supermarkets. From 1990 till 1996 he studies sketches, improves his technics and works at the same time as an independent designer and goldsmith for modern jewellery.1997 he opens his own studio in 1090 Vienna, Whringer Str. 58. His paintings include colour and form, pictures of the subconscius, impressions of phenomenos, that leave deep emotions and will be riddles in the wheels of time. In the moment they are brought on the canvas, they live as own, independent pictures. Mainly, the viewer should look to the pictures with the freedom of feeling and mind, which will offer him their meaning in his own way. Digital Art Dimitrios Loumiotis The range of the Greek artist Dimitrios Loumiotis covers pictures of the earth as a technical Utopia. He prefers computer graphics as a way to express himself. His ‘Manipulation’ series (2003 and 04) reflects the pictures in his mind of a future world consisting of technology only.Barren landscapes, stale grey sky, planets floating in mid air… Figures stand in between the fantastic world, or grow out of the ground itself. Similar to humans, but yet altogether different; skin having been replaced by moss, ceramic or shining dark prediction of future, the artist proclaims, just something to open your mind to a different world. A poetic interpretation of the thought what humans are actually made of and their connection to nature and the Earth itself. The main theme of my work are virtual beings, which undergo continuous evolution and in this way their lives are intertwined with that of the artist. The virtual 3D forms, which exist in three-dimensional environments, have no fixed countenance; they change material, stance and colour. They are under constant improvement and the uncertainty of their completion commits the artist to never-ending experimentation.
