About The Artwork

I am intrigued by the passage of time, of change, and changes in perspectives, whether that be of our individual self, or, from a female viewpoint. I am currently exploring these themes through mixed media (oil paint, ink and glaze), composite photography and alternative photographic process. I have used an old analog print in this piece that I have manipulated. I decided to keep the grit on the picture to represent times effect on us as we change This is a fine art photographic giclée print, professionally hand printed on either Hahnemuhle Photo Rag 308 paper, or Epson Pura Velvet Paper. Limited edition print signed and numbered by the artist, includes the certificate of authenticity.

I trained at Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design in Auckland New Zealand, during which time I began to understand my eclectic love of color and style. During my tenure there I began to hone my passion for the juxtaposition and fight between human made structures, nature and time. My artwork is a direct reflection on how I perceive the world around me and understand my place within it.  I have always found inspiration in nature, our relationship with it, and the perception of space that I get from it. I find honest beauty in decay and dilapidation, from the colours and textures that emerge from the neglect. I think it is a reminder of how fleeting of time is here and ultimately how unimportant we are. I am also intrigued by the passage of time, of change, and changes in perspectives, whether that be of our individual self, or, from a female viewpoint. I am currently exploring these themes through mixed media (oil paint, ink and glaze), composite photography and alternative photographic process. My work is inspired by the Pre-Raphaelite's, the Golden Age of Illustration, Edwardian pictorialism, Julia Margaret Cameron, fauvism expressionism and surrealism and I naturally seem to combine elements from each through color, form and technique.   I have lived in 6 countries, but my current home is the Midwest of the USA. My global perspective has had an impact on my work and growth as an artist.
