About The Artwork

If botanical art can be handsome, this would certainly be so with its dark earthy and cool tones. The works in this series are a reflection on humanity’s control of and, increasingly, destruction of, nature. I made this series at the start of 2021 and included some larger Limited Edition runs with the thought of giving more people an opportunity to live with beautiful interesting art. Printed with pigments on lightly textured 340 gsm cotton paper, these pieces work well in any eclectic, maximalist, or modern room settings. They may go well in simple gallery-style frames, or may be hung directly on a wall. These works are numbered and hand-signed on the back, and include a unique Certificate of Authenticity. Artwork will be shipped rolled in a secure tube. • Type: Fine-Art Print • Medium: Giclée • Materials: 100% Cotton • Paper Type: Epson Cold Press Bright, 340 gsm • Paper Size: 26.5 x 30 inches • Image size: 26.5 x 30 inch • Limited Edition of only 20 • This artwork is sold unframed • Includes Certificate of Authenticity

Born in 1970 in San Antonio, Texas, Deborah Lawrence Schafer is a multidisciplinary artist whose curiosity drives her evolving processes, themes, and styles. Much of her work shines a light on changing environmental conditions and the beauty on earth that we are threatening to lose and has included collaborations with scientists. She worked for more than a decade in art museums in curatorial and tech-related capacities, had a second career helping bring new medical devices to market, and eventually began painting once again. She currently lives and works in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her work is included in numerous private collections.
