ARTIST || PHOTOGRAPHER || DESIGNER A homeland and world traveler. A self taught Creative. Observing, exploring, connecting to the sensory intimacies of sound, vibration, light, shadow, texture, scents, flavors, color. ~The Color Purple “I think it pisses God off if you walk by the color purple in a field somewhere and don't notice it" ~Alice Walker The first time I found my fingers in paint was at the young age of three. My teacher staring down at me, hands on her hips. "What are you doing?" she sternly asked, seemingly bent over, her nose to mine, as I sat on the floor fingers sunk in. She obviously didn't understand or appreciate my painting. I had swirled all of the colors into a tornado of grey brown paint, which is exactly what my response was. "It's a tornado!" I replied. ~Off she walked without further notice of me. And so it began, the painting, the sketching, the practicing of writing fonts, the designing of houses, the picking up of cameras. ~I was eight when I first shot a Kodak. Then under the steps of my home, in my very own darkroom built by my father, when I was fourteen. I don't remember a time when I wasn't busy painting, drawing, shooting, developing. Developing my eye, my taste, my need to dream and create. ~I loose myself in these things, and in music, and in my children, and in their children, and in my tribe, and in myself.
