Born in 1971, Mik Jégou is native of Quimper, situated in Brittany (France), At 6 years old, in the family house of Quimper, invaded by the music of Mikis Théodorakis, He already improvises small shows. His parents propose him a registration in a school of traditional dancing art : "Eostiged ar Stangala" which looks for boys to dance. In 20 years, in the same time, he studies of graphics and painting and he stages his first choreography. With the other choreographers, between repetitions and shows, he will be 8 times champions of Brittany of traditional dances, always in a innovative spirit. Later In 2010, Mik Jégou ends his dancer's career to dedicate completely himsel to his painting inspired by the dance and the color. He decides on the big jump in the professional adventure, in 2004. He leaves his job in the printing factory. Taken for a madman, he doesn’t want to have regrets to try to concretize the dream which was also the one of her sister too early disappeared. Since then, days pass by to the studio or others places, according to the journeys. Dancers or musicians are held in the backstage of his memory. Never of drawings, and released from any photographic representation, they wait for the rhythm of the brush to enter dance and cross the space of the painting in the goodwill of the Balkan, contemporary either electronic musics which invade the studio. Guided by the past and present experiences, carried by the energy of moment, he likes letting go himself in the spontaneity of the movement on the canvas. Between slowness and liveliness, everything is implemented for the main part: the sensation of dance that it is representational, crossed by abstraction or Moreover. These last years, beautiful meetings were made. These numerous artistic experiences enriched his creations, as well as its frequent journeys. India, the Caribbeans islands, Mexico, Costa Rica push him towards other horizons which leads him on the Island of Saint-Martin in November, 2102. These long stays in Caribbean, cause the interbreeding of movement and color’s palette. It teaches him, also, the necessary slowness often unsuitable for our world of the immediacy to cultivate all which makes its artistic adventure inseparable of his life. He tames a different time there. He tames there, the estrangement which, paradoxically, he brings to the closest to his roots. They, also, arose from discoveries and from sometimes forgotten interbreedings.
