Crowded Beach - Lima 2019 Artwork

I've been a photographer for over 40 years, focusing mainly on landscape & nature themes. Even before the advent of digital photography, I had begun to migrate toward more abstract art forms using photography as the medium and the darkroom as the creative toolkit. My first attempt at creating an abstract piece back in 1984 explored the Kodalith process, with paint and lining tape in the darkroom. Digitally Manipulated Photography (I call Digitography) has opened up new vistas for abstraction, and has provided great creative freedom. I tend to focus on line, color, & pattern as the general themes of my work, and digitally manipulating photographs into pseudo-paintings. When not travelling the world, I live in Winthrop, Washington in the eastern foothills of the North Cascades Mountains.
